this butterfly, a Venada, looks a bit like V. glarus, a species which is known only from Bolivia and from SW Brasil ? two specimens have been pictured by Karen Nichols and Andrew Neild South of Tena, but.... identifying Venada species without breeding (caterpillars can be markedly different) and DNA sequencing is apparently impossible.
