we had previously found Perichares colenda only in Venezuela, we had never seen it in Ecuador, so we thought it was extremely rare a species in this country ; but, judging from the pictures posted on Internet, we were wrong.
nevertheless it could be a very localised butterfly as all these records come from the Papallacta - Baeza road.
